LA Riots

The last time that I saw LA Riots was in Chico at the El Rey Theater, and while the number of attendees might have been low, the energy level was high as the Eiffel Tower! LA Riots started making music in 2007 on the 15th anniversary of the 1992 Los Angeles riots. He chose the name as a way to reflect and represent the aggression in his music. He combines indie rock, dance, and electro to pump out songs that will keep your body moving like there's no tomorrow. LA Riots began as tour support for the Bloody Beetroots and MSTRKRFT in 2008, and expanded his sounds to fuse drum and bass, house, and techno. He has had a positive response from fans, and continues to keep the party going at every venue he plays. Widely known for his popular remixes, LA Riots will be providing us with a fun, energetic show at Coachella 2012 on Friday, April 13th and 20th.

Wolf Gang

Not to be confused with Wolfgang Gartner (now hold onto your "aww man's" and "dang it's" just a second!), Wolf Gang is a British symphonic/alternative rock group lead by vocalist Max McElligott. He is accompanied by drummer Lasse Petersen, from The Rakes, and guitarist Gavin Slater, from Ghosts. The tripod has been standing tall since 2009, having opened for bands such as The Killers, Florence and the Machine, Metric, and Miike Snow. And if you're still thinking about how sad you are that we will not be seeing Wolfgang Gartner, then you clearly haven't watched the video above, or below. Wolf Gang brings a truly upbeat, and British style, and ladies, let's face it, there's something very sexy about McElligott; even his name is interesting and shows a twist to something quite average. Wolf Gang will no doubt use their charm and musical talents to swoon us and make us all dance in an exceptionally great way. They will be playing at Coachella 2012 on Friday, April 13th and 20th!

To learn more check out their website, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and as always, Wiki!

Death Grips

Finally a Cali based band. Death Grips comes from Sacramento, and their style is not for the weak or polite. Dubbed experimental hip-hop, the group combines heavy beats with in unique vocals to create the Death Grips' sound. The band consists of three members, vocalist Stefan Burnett, and the production team of Zach Hill and Andy Morin. Death Grips was formed in December 2010, so they are a relatively new artist. They will be playing on Friday of Coachella, and you can find them on Facebook and Twitter.

Manchester Orchestra

Straight out of Atlanta, Georgia, Manchester Orchestra is ready to rock out at Coachella this year. The band is named after Manchester, a city in England that is known for its rich music history. Manchester Orchestra is full of talent as well. Lead singer Andy Hull wrote and recorded a full length album while he was a senior in high school. Pretty impressive. They fall into the indie category, and their songs have a lot of emotional tones to them. To date they have released three albums. Manchester Orchestra will be playing on Saturday. You can follow them on Facebook and Twitter. Peace and Love.

M. Ward

Sweet tunes, good vocals, and creativity seem to sum up what is M. Ward. From Portland, Oregon, Matthew Ward set out to create his own solo project after working in a few other bands. He is also known for his work with She & Him and Monsters of Folk. M. Ward is his solo project in which he mainly contributes on the guitar and with vocals. His music sounds like a mix between indie rock and old school country similar to Johnny Cash. Ward will be playing on Friday, and you can find him on Facebook and Twitter.

Madness

Madness is about to unfold at Coachella, literally and figuratively. From London, the rock steady ska band was formed in 1976, and saw most of their success in the mid 1980's. The band consists of seven members, that's a whole lot of stage room. Madness broke up around 1986, due to band members living in different places. In 1992 they decided to reunite and have stayed together ever since. Madness will be playing on Friday, so stop by their stage and check them out.

Firehouse

In a time where long hair, leather, Motley Crew, and Guns N Roses was in, Firehouse found it's own niche in the rock-n-roll scene. From Charlotte, North Carolina, the band formed around 1989. The height of their popularity came in the early nineties. At the 1992 American Music Awards they won the award for Favorite Heavy Metal/ Hard Rock New Artist. As the glam rock fad started to fade in the United States, Firehouse continued to see success in many Asian countries through the nineties and even into the 2000's. Firehouse will be playing on Saturday of Coachella so check them out.
